Mindgate is about Circumspecting Mitigation - the purposeful consideration of all circumstances and possible consequences, with the aim of reducing the severity, seriousness, or pain and discomfort of something, which is necessary to achieve a peaceful, win/win outcome.


About This Lesson


Your exploration of Mindgate will reveal the importance of heightened self-awareness and how this can lead to transformation.


This lesson is a brief breakdown of Points of Entry and Points of Exit of your behaviors - those choices you make – and the impacts these can have.


The problems that can emanate from these can limit your capacity, which if left un-checked, can hamper your ability to reach your full potential. 


Capacity is what you can do.


Potential is what you could do.


Aligning your choices with discipline will create respect for yourself and others. Unlike gifts or trinkets which can become lost, broken, or stolen, the only time you can lose respect is when you lose your discipline - and you - are the only one who can give your discipline away.


Moderation in thought and action leads to balance, and balance leads to peace. Mis-managing your choices through recklessness will create bad habits that spin out of control, eliminating peace in your life.

Contemplation Journal


You are encouraged to keep journal notes of your studies. These may be a word, a quote, or an image that has resonated with you at a particular place on your journey. Journaling can help provide great personal insights, self-awareness opportunities, and keep you on track with your studies. As new revelations appear, reflecting on past journal entries can provide a good indication of your progress and personal growth.


For this lesson, here’s a few ideas that you may like to use to help get you started. 

  • Draw a quick sketch of the Mindgate Glyph

  • A gate or gateway is a point of entry to or exit from a space enclosed by walls. The word derived from old Norse "gat", meaning road or path; The concept originally referred to the gap or hole in the wall or fence, rather than a barrier which closed it.

  • Mind gates then could be both Points of Entry and/or Points of Exit of your Mindsound.

  • Is greed indeed the root of all evil? Or isn't greed as bad as one makes it out to be?

  • A pilgrimage is a journey, often into an unknown or foreign place, where a person goes in search of new or expanded meaning about self, others, nature, or a higher good, through the experience. It can lead to a personal transformation. Have you experienced anything like this? How did this affect you and those around you?

  • What part does FEAR play, in the choices you make?

  • How can you mitigate fear to fear-less?

  • What is the non-replenishable resource that fear steals from you?

  • Consider this; When you change the input, you change the output.

  • How does heightened Self-Awareness improve your Situation Awareness?

  • Research the Way of St. James, The Camino.
